ALPHAREOL is used as part of a washing buffer at the stage of well replacement after OBM and PCO with completion fluid. The baseline reagent concentration in the main completion brine wash buffer is 9-21% v/v.
Completion after OBM and RSO consists in pumping a wash buffer through the well in such a volume that provides effective contact with the surface for 6-11 minutes in a larger annular space in the established well flushing mode. During the entire time of contact with the remaining OBM in the well, there is a stable destruction of the emulsion and dispersion of the OBM solid phase, which intensifies under a turbulent flow regime, and the surface is wetted with water. This is followed by a viscous water-based squeeze buffer that displaces the reaction products and prevents further mixing of the OBM with the wash buffer and completion fluid.
The reagent is effective in both fresh and mineralized water. The preparation of the washing buffer must be carried out right before pushing it into the well. In case of partial delamination during prolonged settling, pre-mixing is required. In order to maximize the cleaning of the wellbore from the residues of the heavy solid phase, it is advisable to use the reagent in the composition of viscous buffers used before or after the washing buffer.
