Water-insulating reagent ALPHAIZOL

Designed for elimination of losses, selective isolation of water inflows, elimination of behind-the-casing and inter-casing flows in medium and highly permeable reservoirs with injectivity from 150 m³/day at a pressure of 50 atmospheres, up to 2000 m³/day at a pressure of 0 atmospheres. The particle size of the reagent is from 0.5 to 1.5 mm.

Two technologies are used for pumping the ALPHAIZOL water-insulating reagent into the disturbed area:

    Reagent ALPHAIZOL in hydrocarbon solution
    In this case, the water-insulating reagent enters the area of disturbance in the carrier fluid from light hydrocarbons, alcohols and glycols. After delivery to the area of disturbance, the reagent binds to water, increases in volume up to 20-30 times, becomes an elastic rubber-like mass, blocking access to water.

    Reagent ALPHAIZOL in aqueous medium
    The injection is carried out in the following proportion: per 1 m³ of water, 48 kg of a water-insulating agent is added, mixed and supplied to the area of disturbance (the ratio of the agent to water is determined depending on the absorption rate or injectivity). Polymerization takes place within 1 hour, during the next 3 hours - final hardening. This technology is used to eliminate lost circulation, behind-the-casing flows and water-bearing strata. It is possible to slow down the setting time with the help of special additives.
The operating temperature range of the technology is from -12 to +185 °С. The full effectiveness of the applied technology was maintained 3 years after application. Maintains performance in aqueous solutions of calcium chloride up to 3%. Unlike water-swellable polymers, ALPHAIZOL is not an unbound gel that does not hold pressure well, but is a rubber-like bound system that can withstand high pressures (up to 150 atmospheres). Typical consumption for one absorption area is 450-780 kg.
